Architecting materials and structures allows designers to obtain extraordinary behaviors from ordinary base materials. These materials and structures have found applications in a wide variety of applications ranging from optical, acoustic to structural. Naturally, there is strong interest from academia and industry in exploiting their capabilities. This mini-symposium seeks to bring together researchers working on different aspects of architected materials and structures from conceptual design, to application and methods of fabrication.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
  1. Architected materials and structures for structural, acoustic, thermal, mechanical, biomechanical, electromagnetic, and other applications
  2. Hierarchical architected materials and structures
  3. Bio-inspired architected materials and structures
  4. Knitted or woven architected materials and structures
  5. Adaptive, active, reconfigurable architected materials and structures
  6. Methods for design of architected materials and structures
  7. Novel fabrication methods for architected materials and structures
