All congress registrants are encouraged to join the Welcome Reception. Connect with old friends, meet new colleagues, and enjoy hors d’oeuvres during this congress kickoff event. Name badges are required.

Monday, July 24

Welcome & Awards - 7:45-8:30am, Ballroom A,B,C

The congress chairs will welcome all attendees to the congress and 2023 USACM Awards will be given as well as an in-person recognition of 2020 and 2022 IACM Awards and 2021 USACM Awards.

Mentoring Session - 12-1pm, DoubleTree Crystal Ballroom

A mentoring event for registered graduate students hosted by the USACM Technical Thrust Area on Large Scale Structural Systems and Optimal Design and the USACM Student Chapter. Registered students will meet with their mentors for a one-to-one discussion on research, career paths, or any topic of interest to cultivate the next generation of leaders in computational mechanics.

NSF Technical Session Workshop - 2-4pm, Ballroom B

NSF MoMS Program Directors will present program overview and funding opportunities for the mechanics community at large (~30 minutes). It will be followed by Q/A. (Open to All).

Student Meet & Greet - 6:30-8:30pm, Convention Center, Lower Level East

The USACM Student Chapter welcomes all students to join them for the first student meet and greet to meet fellow students and the Student Chapter leadership and to network and learn about chapter activities and opportunities to get involved. Refreshments will be served!

Tuesday, July 25

NSF One-on-one PI Meetings - 9:30-11:30am and 2-4pm, 060 Chaco

One-on-one PI meetings with NSF MoMS Program Directors. Please come prepared with your talking point. (15 minutes per meeting slot, sign up required at the registration desk. For US-affiliated PIs only).

Career Panel - 12-1pm, Ballroom B

This Career Panel will provide students, postdocs, and early career professionals an opportunity to learn from established researchers from academia, national laboratories, and industry about different career options. This event aims to create a venue for those panelists to share their career paths, career development advice, work-life balance, and mentoring experience. Panelists will provide a 5-minute narrative, followed by answering questions from both the panel organizers and attendees.

Student Poster Session - 4-5:30pm, Convention Center, Lower and Upper Level West

Students will present their posters and light refreshments will be served.

Women's Networking Event - 5:30-8:30pm, Ballroom B & Hotel Andaluz

On behalf of the Female Researchers Chapter of the IACM (IACM-FRC) and the Female Research Group of the USACM (USACM-FRG) we would like to invite you to the Women’s Networking Event (5:30pm-6:30pm) followed by a reception at the Hotel Andaluz (6:45-8:30).

The event will feature a panel of distinguished researchers at the conference venue followed by a catered reception and social mixer at Hotel Andaluz, graciously sponsored by Elsevier.

UQ-TTA Student Paper Competition in Uncertainty Quantification - 4:30-6:30pm, 240 La Cienega

This minisymposium is composed of presentations by six student finalists selected from among the contributed abstracts and short papers in uncertainty quantification and related areas. 1-3 awards will be made.

Congress Banquet Reception - 6:30-7pm, Convention Center, Upper Level West

For those registered for the banquet, a short reception will be held in Upper Level West.

Congress Banquet - 7-8:30pm, Ballroom A,B,C

For those registered for the banquet, doors open at 7pm. Poster winners will be announced as well as a few upcoming meetings of interest.

Thursday, July 27

Congress Closing - 11:30am-1pm, Convention Center, Upper Level West

Join us for light refreshments to close the congress.
